Scrap Wood Scarecrow

Bronze Post Medal for All Time! 221 Posts

Cute for fall! We had some scraps of "plank" wood leftover from an old backyard playset. My husband cut the planks and screwed and glued the parts together to form a scarecrow with a hat.

Total Time: 1 1/2 hours

Yield: 1

Supplies:

Scarecrow

Steps:

  1. Start with painting the scarecrow's hat, using two coats of paint or more.
  2. Cut a piece of fabric for the patch and glue onto the hat. Make stitch marks around the patch with the acrylic sharpie pen. Glue trim at the bottom.
  3. Decorate the hat with flowers and twine for "hair" using a hot glue gun.
  4. Scarecrow

  5. For the face, I used an oval stencil to paint the eyes black and made a white accent on the eye. Using an acrylic sharpie pen, I outlined a smile and a nose.
  6. Scarecrow
