Over Wintering an Easter Lily Bulb?I live in Houston, Texas. I purchased an Easter lily in the spring which I kept in its original pot. The plant dried up and I was going to toss it, but I noticed there is still a healthy looking bulb, or cluster of bulbs. (I am not sure, but it looks kind of like a large garlic bulb. Is that one or multiple?)

New Sod Dying?I just replaced a few 10ft. × 10ft. sections of my lawn with some common fescue sod. It needed some regrading of the soil height for drainage purposes. So when I removed the old grass, I made sure to turn the soil up to around 10 in. deep fertilized it and tamped it down to a firm but not solid turf. Then I soaked it down, bought my sod from a reputable nursery and installed it to industry specs.

Growing Lily of the Valley?My husband mowed down my lily of the valley in late summer in northern Michigan. This year the leaves seem smaller and the flowers are also short. I have another area that he didn't cut and there is a big difference between the two. Should they be left to die on their own in the fall, do they need the green leaf to feed the root as with spring bulbs.

Growing an Avocado Tree?I have a avocado tree that I babied all winter long. It survived and it got to be 4 feet tall. I got this man to put it in the ground for me. I don't know any better so I cut off the dead leaves. I am watering it about every other day, but it just doesn't look good. What can I do to help it?
