Green Apple Monsters - 4 apple monsters including two with jam instead of peanut butterAren't these little monsters adorable? They're mostly fruit, so you won't feel too bad munching on them. Play around with their teeth and eye spacing to give them each some character. After slicing the apples, this would be a great edible craft for kids. Have fun!

Total Time: 1 hour

Yield: 4-5 monsters per apple

Supplies:

Green Apple Monsters - supplies

Steps:

  1. Cut apples in half, then cut into 4-5 equal segments. If you're making several at one time, sprinkle with lemon juice so they don't go brown.
  2. Green Apple Monsters - cut apples in half and then into equally sized segments

  3. Peel off the core bits. Cut a small segment out of each apple wedge to create the monster's open mouth.
  4. Green Apple Monsters - cut away core, then cut a small wedge for the mouth in each section

  5. Swipe the inside with peanut butter, then pierce the inside of the mouths with sunflower seeds as teeth. For variation, I put strawberry jam in some of the mouths instead of peanut butter.
  6. Green Apple Monsters - coat inside of wedge cut out with peanut butter and stick in sunflower seeds as teeth
