Shark Costume

Shark Costume - front view of costume showing teeth and white felt bellyIt could be cold while trick or treating or going to the pumpkin patch. With this shark costume, you're essentially using any gray sweater your child owns and some felt - very inexpensive and perhaps even using items you may already own at home! Preferably use a sweater that your child is about to outgrow.

Total Time: 1 hour

Supplies:

Steps:

  1. Using a large piece of white felt, you can sketch over your sweater a large half oval for the "stomach" area of the shark and use tacky glue.
  2. The inside of the sweater was lined red, so all I needed to do with the remaining white felt was to cut zig zags strips to resemble the shark's teeth and tacky glue all around the hood.
  3. Shark Costume - add white felt teeth to the hood

  4. Now for the fin, fold the gray felt in half and cut a wave like shape and sew the opening, then stuff cotton balls, pillow stuffing, tissue paper) and sew down to the center of the back sweater.
  5. Shark Costume - fin on back of jacket
